Remembering a Great Man!
I met Rex on the bank of Clear Creek, in Idaho Springs, Colorado. We picked and drank beer till dawn, with probably 10 other pickers.
The next day, I moved into the 5 bedroom rental house with Rex and three other guys. Rex was working in a front end shop in Idaho Springs and I was working at the Amex mine, at Berthoud. A couple of years later, we shared a off season home at Grand Lake. I moved back to Rangely Colorado, and Rex and I stayed in touch. 4 years later, we lost touch and I had moved to Oklahoma. We touched base again, and then four years later, in 1983, I moved to Northwest Arkansas.
Once again we got in touch and he told me he was moving to Nashville and coming right past me. We had about a four day visit and he and his wife moved to Nashville and I lost complete touch with Rex.
I've tried several times to contact him and tonight (07-22-2025) I tried one more time. I knew Rex did well in Nashville but could never hook up with him. Tonight I found I have no more opportunity.
He was a hell of a good man, and my total condolences go to his family, all of his friends and all of his loved ones. God bless Rex and God bless you all.
